Welcome to VasnaLok ("VasnaLok", "we", "our", or "us"). We operate vasnalok.com, a digital publishing platform for fictional adult stories in multiple Indian languages.
We deeply respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over your information under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and the Information Technology Act, 2000 of India.
By using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.
2. Data Fiduciary & Grievance Officer
Under the DPDP Act, VasnaLok is the Data Fiduciary for personal data processed through the Platform. We have also appointed a Grievance Officer as required under Rule 3(1)(d) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

We acknowledge privacy grievances within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days of receipt. Use the subject line "Privacy Grievance" when writing to us.
3. Information We Collect
VasnaLok is built with a privacy-first mindset. We do not require sign-ups, accounts, or phone verification to read stories. We collect only the minimum information needed to run the Platform.
A. Anonymous Device & Telemetry Data
To provide reader statistics and measure popular reading times, our systems automatically assign an anonymous cryptographic device identifier (e.g. dev_xxxxxx) stored in your browser's local storage. It is not linked to your real-world identity.
B. Reading Behaviour & Preferences
Your current reading position, font size, and dark/light theme choices are stored locally on your own device for quick resumption.
C. Technical Data
Browser type, device type, approximate location (city level, derived from IP), pages visited, and time spent — collected via analytics tools. Server logs (IP address, access time, requested URLs) are kept for security and abuse prevention.
D. Information You Share Voluntarily
If you contact us, we receive your email address and message content, used only to respond to your query.
E. Third-Party Services
Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity help us understand aggregate reading behaviour and may set their own cookies under their privacy policies.
Advertising: ads are served by ExoClick and similar networks, which may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure ads, including interest-based advertising, under their own privacy policies.
VasnaLok does not sell, rent, lease, or monetize your individual reading history or device data to third-party data brokers, marketing agencies, or unsolicited advertisers.
4. Purpose of Processing & Your Consent
We process information only for: operating and improving the Platform; measuring aggregate readership; preventing fraud and abuse; responding to your queries and grievances; and complying with Indian law. The lawful basis is your consent under Section 6 of the DPDP Act, given by using the Platform after notice of this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time (withdrawal does not affect processing already done).
5. Your Rights as a Data Principal
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of personal data we hold about you;
- Correction and erasure of your personal data;
- Grievance redressal through our Grievance Officer;
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.
To exercise any right, email vasnalok@gmail.com with the subject "Data Rights Request". Because most of our identifiers are anonymous, please include any relevant detail (such as the device identifier from your browser's local storage) so we can locate your data.
6. Children's Data — 18+ Only
The Platform is strictly for adults aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly collect data of children. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it promptly, in line with Section 9 of the DPDP Act. Parents or guardians may write to vasnalok@gmail.com to request deletion.
7. Data Retention
- Server logs: up to 12 months;
- Analytics data: per the analytics provider's retention settings;
- Contact correspondence: up to 24 months after the query is resolved;
- Anonymous local-storage identifiers: until you clear your browser storage.
8. Data Security
We apply reasonable security practices as required under the IT Act and the DPDP Act — encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and limited staff access to data. No internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Cross-Border Transfer
Some service providers (analytics, advertising, hosting) may process data on servers outside India, in compliance with applicable Indian law and with reasonable safeguards.
10. Cookies
The Platform and its partners (analytics, advertising) use cookies and similar technologies. You can control cookies in your browser settings; disabling them may affect features like saved reading positions. Continued use of the Platform means you consent to cookies as described here.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will update the "Last updated" date below. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.
